Your Saturday morning antique scout report for furnishing a 1929 Seattle Tudor.

šŸŖž Potential Lead: Vintage Gold Ornate Mirror — $300 (Montlake)

A Rococo Revival gold-framed mirror popped up in Montlake, near the 520 and Arboretum. The frame features carved scrollwork, acanthus leaves, a crested cartouche top, and shell motifs at the base — all in a warm aged gold finish that would pair beautifully with Tudor-era dark woodwork.

The catch: It measures approximately 36 Ɨ 20 inches. That's a lovely accent mirror, but falls short of the full-size Victorian statement piece we're hunting for. Still worth noting — the style is right, the price is fair, and the seller is in Seattle. If our vision for the mirror wall shifts to a curated grouping rather than a single showpiece, this could play a role.

šŸŖ‘ Still Available: Hitchcock "Turtle Back" Windsor Armchairs — $395/pair (Northgate)

Our top Windsor chair pick remains on the market. Vintage Hitchcock spindle-back armchairs with the classic "turtle back" shape, solid construction, priced as a pair in Northgate — practically around the corner. These have been listed for a few weeks now, which means there may be room to negotiate.

šŸ“‹ The Hunt Continues

No new leads today on our remaining wish list items:

  • Victorian/ornate canopy bed — Only a twin-size four-poster on the Eastside. Not suitable.
  • Wood corner hutch (dining room) — A cherry dining set with hutch appeared ($500), but it's a full matching suite, not a standalone corner piece.
  • Corner bookshelf (office) — Nothing period-appropriate. Just modern composite pieces.

Saturday estate sales sometimes surface gems that don't make it to Craigslist — keep your eyes open if you're out and about today. šŸ·ļø
